Our Story

With innovative cuisine, genuine hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere, Cochon on 2nd is a place where fine cuisine meets approachable comforts. We work hard to find the perfect selection of ingredients that create a memorable dining experience. Our chef-driven restaurant, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, offers rotating menus of delectable creations that make this a top choice when dining in the Hampton Roads area. Chef’s Table

The Chef’s Table directly overlooks the open kitchen and is designed to be fun and adventurous. We can accommodate parties from 2 to 10 guest. When making reservations for the Chef’s Table, we will inquire into your culinary favorites and create a personalized multi-course dinner with wine pairings based on your personal likes. The Chef’s Table experience can be very casual, fun and modern to elegant old school dining for those very special evenings. The dining options are endless and we look forward to cooking for you soon.

With over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Neil Griggs is thrilled to be back in his family’s hometown of Williamsburg, Virginia. A Culinary Institute of America graduate, Neil’s diverse background includes everything from five-star restaurants to a full-service catering business – serving as the caterer for the South Carolina Inaugural Ball for President Bill Clinton. His passion for imaginative culinary creations and outstanding service is the driver behind the Cochon on 2nd concept. From the repurposed wood from his grandparents’ barn in Suffolk, Virginia to the decision to incorporate seasonal menus with local ingredients, Neil’s thoughtful vision is evident throughout the restaurant.

Cochon on 2nd is nestled in the Shops on Second Street (behind the Velvet Shoestring), and moments from Colonial Williamsburg. Our comfortable ambiance is designed to make you feel at home. For the foodies among us, the restaurant features an eight-seat chef’s table overlooking the kitchen, specialty items cooked tableside and wood-grilled entrees cooked on the area’s largest Big Green Egg. Our vibrant bar lounge boasts an extensive wine list and handcrafted cocktails and freshly prepared appetizers, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a glass and a tasty bite. We make every effort to ensure your dining experience is special and look forward to seeing you back time and time again.
